Pre Settlement - Transition Management: Provision of transition management services, i.e. managing the restructuring of an institutional investor's portfolio (typically when investment management passes to new firms or there is a change in asset allocation strategy). The transition manager's job is to manage risks and costs - and to handle conflicts between parties. The process includes pre-trade analysis and execution of trades. The dilemma faced here is that external trades conducted too quicly would incur high trading costs (from the market impact of the trade) yet passive execution can result in high opportunity costs. In all dealings, the service provider affords transparency, accountability and continuous performance measurement throughout the transition process.
