EquiLend automates total return swaps trading
December 10, 2019

EquiLend, the global technology company for the securities finance, collateral and swaps industries, has today launched the Swaptimization platform to automate the total return swaps (TRS) market.

EquiLend says that Swaptimization delivers automation and efficiency to equity TRS trading, its intuitive, web-based user interface offering access to liquidity in a few simple clicks.

Swaptimization utilizes a proprietary matching algorithm to pair natural positions across market participants to facilitate bilateral, security-based TRS in an efficient, centralized and scalable manner.

EquiLend adds that Swaptimization has launched today in the United States, with a core group of total return swaps market participants joining the launch. A broad array of firms have been participating in EquiLend's Swaptimization Working Group since June, with upwards of 20 participant firms expected to join the platform in the US in the new year. The launch of Swaptimization in Europe and Asia will follow in 2020, pending regulatory approvals.

Clients already using EquiLend services - including NGT, the securities finance industry's most active trading platform - benefit from easy onboarding to Swaptimization.
