Societe Generale has confirmed its recent sale of a 2.05 percent stake in Euroclear to Société Fédérale de Participations et d'Investissement (SFPI). It remains a significant minority shareholder in the international central securities depository, it adds.

It says this disposal is the consequence of the mechanical increase in the group's holding thanks to successive share buybacks implemented by Euroclear over the past few years.

All the authorizations required for the closing of the transaction have already been obtained.
