| Job Description |
Our client is a leading global financial services firm with assets of $1.4 trillion and operations in more than 50 countries. The firm is a leader in investment banking, financial services for consumers, small business and commercial banking, financial transaction processing, asset and wealth management, and private equity. It serves millions of consumers and many of the world's most prominent corporate, institutional and government clients. More precisely, we are working for the Securities Services Division, which is a global industry leader. It provides innovative custody, fund accounting and administration and securities services to the world's largest institutional investors, alternative asset managers and debt and equity issuers. Our client leverages its scale and capabilities in more than 90 markets to help clients optimize efficiency, mitigate risk and enhance revenue through a broad range of investor services as well as securities clearance, collateral management and alternative investment services. The Relationship Management Group is responsible for managing all aspects of the relationship with our client’s customers who are typically the major financial institutions: Commercial Banks, Central Banks, Government Agencies, Asset Managers, Pension Funds and Corporates. Principal responsibilities are to ensure that the customer’s expectations are fully met with regard to ‘business as usual’ service delivery; and to cross-sell the broad array of products and services which the bank has to offer into that client base.
There is also an opening for an Associate Relationship Manager (AVP) in the same area. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the own, albeit smaller, clients as well as assisting on some larger names. They will work under guidance but are expected to learn fast and work on their own initiative quickly. The Relationship Manager will assume full responsibility for managing all aspects of the relationships with a number of UK based pension fund managers and charities. The RM will be required to understand the strategies and business objectives of each of the clients and to ensure that to the greatest degree possible, the bank contributes in the fulfilment of those customer objectives. The RM will have the responsibility of working with other areas of the firm which also have business relationships with the customers to ensure that no cross-sell opportunity passes unidentified and that every resource is brought to bear to close an opportunity in our client’s favour. The Relationship Manager will typically interact with Client Services, Treasury and Securities Services executives, and Investment Bank/Credit and Rates colleagues in the pursuit of client retention and growing share of wallet. |
| Qualifications |
• Excellent inter-personal skills are a pre-requisite, as is the ability to work unsupervised but operate as part of a team; • Candidates should be able to operate effectively at senior levels within the client’s organisation (CFO, Treasurer), as well as with the industry, and with consultants; • Broad knowledge of the financial services industry, preferably with a focus on global custody or asset management is critical; • A specific knowledge of pension funds and the UK market, custody, accounting, performance measurement, securities lending and client facing technology solutions would be a distinct advantage. |
