Mark Mobius retirement announced

Franklin Templeton Investments has announced the retirement of the near legendary Dr Mark Mobius, effective January 31, 2018.

Dr Mobius is currently a portfolio manager on the UK - closed end fund - Templeton Emerging Markets Investment Trust (TEMIT). An announcement (attached) was issued to the London Stock Exchange announcing that he will no longer be listed as portfolio manager after January 31, 2018.

TEMIT continues to be managed by Lead Portfolio Manager Carlos Hardenberg and Deputy Portfolio Manager Chetan Sehgal.

The following is a recap of the succession planning milestones for the Templeton Emerging Markets Group (TEMG):

Carlos Hardenberg appointed as Lead Portfolio Manager and Chetan Sehgal was appointed as Senior Research Analyst of TEMIT on October 1, 2015.(Mark Mobius stepped down from lead PM responsibilities and remained as a portfolio manager on TEMIT).

New director appointments and portfolio manager assignments were announced on a various funds on January 2, 2016.

Stephen Dover was appointed as CIO of TEMG, in addition to his role as CIO of Franklin Local Asset Management on April 15, 2016.

Additional portfolio manager assignments were announced in March 2017, effective early April 3, 2017.

From April 2017, Mark stepped down as portfolio manager on most of the funds managed by TEMG.

Chetan Sehgal named Deputy Portfolio Manager of TEMIT in June 2017.

1. Click the red O button in the upper left hand corner
2. Select Settings -> Preferences
3. Select the Advanced Tab
4. Select Cookies in the list on the left side
5. Set it to "Accept cookies" or "Accept cookies only from the sites I visit"
6. Click OK
