BNP Paribas announces senior appointments
February 18, 2020

BNP Paribas Securities Services has appointed Simon Olenka as Regional Head of the UK and Middle East, effective April 1 2020. Olenka succeeds Patrick Hayes, who has been appointed Global Head of Alternative Investors.

A securities services industry expert with 30 years' experience, Olenka joined BNP Paribas in 2018 as UK Head of Client Delivery, a role spanning IT, operations and change management.

In his new role, he will lead the Securities Services' teams in the UK and the Middle East and be responsible for helping the bank meet its growth targets in these markets. Alenka is based in London and will report to Anne Marie Verstraeten, BNP Paribas UK Country Head, and Alessandro Gioffreda, Global Head of Territory Management at BNP Paribas Securities Services.

Hayes has been promoted to Global Head of Alternative Investors, a fast-growing client line dedicated to hedge funds and private capital investors. He joined BNP Paribas as regional head in 2016 after a 25-year career at State Street.

He will be based in Dublin and report to Philippe Benoît, Global Head of Strategic Business Development and Transformation.
