WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
This intermediate-level course assumes a good operational understanding of securities lending and the lender's perspective.
The focus here is on other trade structures, including repo and derivatives, used to reduce dealer funding costs and enhance yields through tax and balance sheet management.
Proprietary and hedge fund trading strategies are examined together with their financing implications as are the risks involved in collateral trading.
Ample hands-on opportunities are provided through the use of exercises and case studies, one involving interactive software, to develop an understanding of how and why trades are structured using various economically equivalent structures.
