OVERVIEW:
This two-day course teaches the skills and tools required to value companies, including quantitative methods of investment analysis, sources of risk and return, specials situations and strategic analysis. Financial modelling techniques using Excel will be explained, with ample exercises and opportunities to apply these skills in practice.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
As a delegate on this course, you will learn quantitative methods of investment analysis from basic discounted cash flow to alternative valuation techniques such as WACC calculation, free cash flow cyclicality and termination value modelling. Special situations will be explored, including business combinations, financial distress and cross-border investments. You will gain a thorough understanding of Economic Value Added (EVA) methodology, both as a valuation tool and as an internal performance measure, appreciating its advantages and disadvantages. Finally, you will learn how to interpret both basic and complex financial earnings models as well as create your own using Excel.
