Process requirements
Fundamental to a custody service is the safekeeping of securities and cash.  For details of the associated risks, please refer to the Client Servicing, Risk section from the above menu or pick from the menu below.  Clients look to their global custodians and transaction banks for guidance as to how markets operate and who the various counterparties are.  Increasingly, there is a key focus on where market risk lies and how the various risks are managed and mitigated by the provider (and any third-party sub-custodian).  Increasingly, a service provider acts as an advisor on how a client should set themselves up and on a suitable programme of due diligence.
